Patrick Donley, LMHC
Serving Iowa and Washington Residents
I practice therapy that demystifies the therapeutic process and takes a direct approach to meeting the needs of my clients. My experience as a therapist has taught me that regardless of past or current situations, everyone has the potential for growth. If you're stuck, depressed, confused, numb, anxious, frustrated, angry, feeling disconnected from yourself and others, or just looking for perspective, I'm here to help.
Meet Our Interns
Hope Kminek - MSW Graduate Intern
I’m a master’s student intern passionate about supporting children and adults as they navigate challenges around identity and life transitions. I see therapy as a space grounded in acceptance, warmth, and mutual trust. For me, that means practicing with cultural humility, honoring the resilience each person brings, and making sure therapy is flexible and accessible to fit each person’s needs.
As an Asian American adoptee who grew up in a rural Iowa town, I understand how identity and belonging can be a source of both struggle and growth. I draw on skills from Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing to support clients in their journeys.
Whitney Lang - MSW Graduate Intern
Everyone is welcome here. I work with clients from all walks of life. However, I take a special interest in supporting BIPOC individuals navigating perfectionism, hypervigilance, performance pressure, ADHD, burnout, and the challenges of living in systems not built for them.
My personal journey has shaped how I listen, connect, and hold space for growth—I’m a Black woman, a mother, a first-generation college student, a former collegiate athlete, and coach. I know firsthand the unique pressures and constant vigilance that often come with being a “successful” person of color, along with the isolation, high expectations, and systemic barriers that can shape our experiences. These lived experiences give me a unique perspective on both the strengths and struggles within these dynamics, and they remind me that healing doesn’t happen in isolation—it happens in community.
I’m a Co-Founder of the BIPOC Healing Collective and an MSW graduate intern providing culturally responsive, identity-affirming therapy for adolescents and adults (ages 12+). I also support first-generation college students, survivors of domestic violence, and those facing stress, identity-related challenges, or self-esteem concerns.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed, drawing from Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and other strengths-based methods. Together, we’ll focus on empowerment, autonomy, and building a life that feels authentic and aligned with your values.
