Will Denny, LMSW
My path to therapy began in the classroom. For over a decade, I taught ESL to adults. I worked with learners in China, Jordan, and communities close to home. Those years shaped how I understand identity and belonging. I see them not as fixed categories but as living, shifting questions that surface whenever we cross boundaries. These boundaries can be geographic, cultural, or personal. That perspective informs my work with anyone navigating questions of identity and cultural transition. This includes transnational folks, immigrants, college students, people exploring gender and sexuality, individuals with ADHD, autism, or anyone feeling caught between who others expect them to be, who they are, and who they want to become.
My approach is grounded primarily in Narrative Therapy. I help you untangle old stories and author new ones aligned with your values. I also draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and frameworks from education including self-authorship, self-definition, and the empowerment cycle. What ties these together is a focus on helping you move from living by external formulas to trusting your own internal voice. The goal is making choices that feel truly yours and building relationships where people know the real you.
We will work at your pace. We will notice patterns, ask better questions, and build a life rooted in authenticity and genuine connection. Feeling stuck on questions of identity and belonging is common, but navigating it alone does not have to be the path forward.
I offer a free 15 minute video consultation. This is a low-pressure chance to see if we are a good fit and discuss what you are looking for. I hope to hear from you.
